The Annual Children's Aid Foundation Charitable Bike Ride
Description: The annual and well-recognized charitable bike ride, dubbed the âChildrenâs Aid Foundation Charitable Bike Ride,â returned for its fifth year in Vaughan. And, like previous years, the fifth installment highlighted an important philanthropic missionâto raise funds to support children and families, across York Region, in need of financial assistance and support.
It was on September 10th of this year, that the foundationâs supporters once again united to work on further accomplishing their uplifting mission. At 9 a.m. everyone met up at McMichael Canadian Art Gallery prepped with their bikes and riding gear. After a moment of mingling, networking and enjoying some delightful refreshments, cyclists eventually got on their bikes to embark on a 50 kilometres journey around the communityâwhich featured a ride through lovely, picturesque and natural sceneries. While the ride gave the cyclists a chance to stay active and get closer to nature, they were also raising awareness along the way.
As mentioned on the foundationâs website, âSince 2012, the CAF Charity Bike Ride has raised over $60,000! These proceeds have gone towards supporting underprivileged children and their families by providing opportunities, such as summer camp, to better their lives.â And this yearâs event was successful in adding to this amount.
